Kemi Badenoch wins the Conservative leadership contest
Kemi Badenoch has won the conservative leadership contest making her the first Black woman to lead a major political party in the UK. Olukemi Badenoch nee Adegoke was born in the UK in 1980, grew up in Lagos and America. She returned to UK as a teenager and did her A-levels here. She studied Computer Systems Engineering at the University of Sussex, completing a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in 2003. She also has a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from Birbeck, University of London graduating in 2009. She has worked in the IT, Consultancy and Financial services sectors.
